Here’s is a list of some places you must see during your trip in Siquijor Island:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cambugahay Falls<\/h2>\n

This beautiful spot is definitely one of the best places to visit on Siquijor Island.<\/p>\n

Apart from its stunning lower waterfalls and refreshing natural pools, you can try the Tarzan swing for an exhilarating experience. You also have the chance to ride a bamboo raft, a unique and traditional way to travel through waterfalls and rivers in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

Salagdoong Beach and Seascape<\/h2>\n

Ever been to Boracay and loved it? Then Salagdoong Beach on Siquijor Island is definitely worth a visit. You can relax along the sandy beaches and enjoy the beautiful scenery.<\/p>\n

Don’t miss the stunning Salagdoong Beach Seascape, which features an islet with a sandbar and above-water rocks perfect for exciting cliff jumping. There\u2019s a 20 pesos fee to access the islet, and you can rent diving boards, cottages, and floaters there.<\/p>\n

Belete Tree<\/h2>\n

The Balete Tree on Siquijor Island is intriguing due to its age and mystical reputation. Located a 20-minute drive from Cambuhagay Falls, this ancient tree is a significant part of the island’s cultural and natural heritage. It\u2019s about 400 years old and holds various mystical folklore.<\/p>\n

One of the stories is about the tree having enchanted beings living there. It is believed that harming the tree will bring misfortune.<\/p>\n

Another tale is about a traveler who, unaware of the tree’s significance, decided to cut a branch for firewood. His trips were plagued with misfortunes and eerie accidents without natural explanations. Realizing his mistake, he returned to the tree, offering an apology and gifts to appease the spirits. Immediately after, his luck turned.<\/p>\n

The tree is located in the Lazi area, about a 30-minute drive south of the main town of Siquijor. The most common way to get there is by hailing a tricycle. Another option is taking a jeepney to Lazi, and from Lazi town, taking a tricycle to the Balete Tree.<\/p>\n

Locong Falls<\/h2>\n

If you are heading to Lazi Town to see the Balete Tree, consider adding Locong Falls as a stop along the way. Locong Falls is less crowded and busy compared to Cambugahay Falls and is much more accessible.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a Tarzan rope for swinging and jumping into the natural pool from the lower-tier cascading waterfalls. Additionally, there\u2019s a small spot under the cliffs that is a great place to take some photos.<\/p>\n

\"Locong<\/p>\n

Butterfly Sanctuary<\/h2>\n

A unique attraction on the island is the Butterfly Sanctuary, located in the heart of Siquijor Island. Here, you can see various colorful species of butterflies. If you\u2019re interested in learning about the purpose of this sanctuary, have a chat with the enthusiastic owner, who is highly passionate about the project of saving butterflies.<\/p>\n

To get to the Butterfly Sanctuary, you can either hire a tricycle driver or rent a motorbike and go on your own. It\u2019s about a 25-minute drive from the main town of Siquijor to the sanctuary.<\/p>\n

Pitogo Cliff Nature Park<\/h2>\n

Looking for more cliff-jumping opportunities? Head to the southwest region of the island to reach Pitogo Cliff. Here, you can experience a more thrilling jump, as the rocks are higher above the sea.<\/p>\n

If you go late in the afternoon, you can also admire the sunset from here and enjoy some snorkeling. It\u2019s a popular spot, so you may want to arrive a bit earlier or go in the late afternoon before sunset.<\/p>\n

Paliton Beach<\/h2>\n

Paliton Beach is less than 20 minutes away from Siquijor Town and is a great spot to watch the sunset. Local vendors sell fresh coconuts, perfect for cooling off after enjoying the warm, clear waters and fine sandy beach.<\/p>\n

Pontod Beach is right next to Paliton Beach, but the only way to access it is by swimming a short distance from Paliton Beach.<\/p>\n

Sambulawan Underground River<\/h2>\n

You have explored Siquijor Island’s beaches and mountains, discovering its beauty from above ground. Now, it’s time to dive deeper by heading underground. Sambulawan, located in the southeast of the island, is about 10 minutes north of Lazi Town.<\/p>\n

To reach Sambulawan, you will need to hike down some trails and stairs through the jungle. It\u2019s essential to bring good shoes or flip-flops with great grips.<\/p>\n

Once you reach the underground river, you can go for a swim. The hike can be hot, so a swim afterward is definitely refreshing.<\/p>\n

Mount Bandilaan<\/h2>\n

Apart from visiting the shorelines of Siquijor Island, enjoying its crystal clear waters, and jumping off waterfall cliffs, you can also embark on some fun hiking adventures. Visit Mount Bandilaan, where you can stand on a platform and admire a 360\u00b0 panoramic view of the island\u2019s landscape, the Bohol Sea, and the Sulu Sea.<\/p>\n

It takes 148 steps to reach the top of the platform, and there isn\u2019t an elevator, so be prepared for the climb. Mount Bandilaan is near the Butterfly Sanctuary, so to make your tricycle hire or motorbike rental worth the trip, don’t forget to stop by this viewpoint.<\/p>\n
