Nazareth Free Tour

Merely two millennia ago, Nazareth was a small, rural Jewish village home to a couple who would change the course of history. Nazareth is where the Virgin Mary discovered she was with child. Our tour will share the story of Nazareth’s most famous family – Jesus, Mary, and Joseph – as well as discover how the city developed into the largest Arab city in Israel over the course of the last 2,000 years.

The tour begins at Fauzi Azar Hostel, a 200-year-old Arab mansion owned by a respected Nazarene family in the Old City of Nazareth. After meticulous renovations, the property was converted into the city’s first hostel in 2005. Located in the middle of the Old City Market, we will wander through the colorful and vibrant alleyways to soak in the charming blend of old and new with street vendors, holy and historical sites, and boutique cafés and restaurants. We will visit Mary’s Well – the symbol of Nazareth and the site where the Angel Gabriel appears to Mary, and walk past The White Mosque, the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, and the Catholic Basilica of Annunciation. Our tour ends in the heart of the old city market.

How does our tour work? We believe that Nazareth should be accessible to any person at any budget and our tips-based model guarantees that your tour will be entertaining, fun, and informative. Our team of Abraham Tours guides are licensed by the Israel Ministry of Tourism and are locals to give you the best tips for spending your time in Nazareth – even after the Free Tour ends!
