Caesarea, Kibbutz & Fisherman Village Tour: Israel's Contrasts

Get ready to take a step back in time and experience a side of Israel that few visitors have the chance to see. Join us on an exclusive day trip that will take you to explore the ancient Roman ruins, visit an authentic Arab fishing village, and discover the fascinating Kibbutz community. This isn’t your typical tour; our unique experience shows the contrast between the wealth of the Kibbutz and the poverty of the Arab fishing village, showcasing the social and economic disparities within Israeli society. ֵ

Starting off in Tel Aviv, we’ll head north along the magnificent Mediterranean coast. Our first stop is Caesarea National Park, where you’ll discover the ruins of an ancient Roman harbor city that was once among the most important outside of Rome. Let your imagination run wild as you explore the incredible Hippodrome, aqueduct, and the remaining palaces and houses that bear witness to the legacy of the Roman Empire.

Our journey continues as we head to the charming Arab fishing village of Jisr az-Zarqa. Here, our local tour guide will take you on an enlightening journey through the village, sharing its rich history and contemporary way of life and the daily struggles faced by one of the poorest villages in Israel.

The day continues with a visit to Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael, where you’ll learn about the Kibbutz movement’s fascinating history and communal philosophy. As we arrive, we’ll be treated to a delicious buffet lunch in the communal dining hall, followed by an in-depth tour of the community. You’ll observe firsthand the extensive fish pools that provide a significant source of income for the Kibbutz and gain insight into the ways of life within the community.

As one of the last remaining truly communal kibbutzim in Israel, a tour of Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael is a unique experience, showing one of history’s most influential community structures.

After a day of exploration, we’ll return to Tel Aviv, arriving back at Abraham in the late afternoon.
