While Virgin Island Bohol is a natural wonder, it’s not the easiest place to find on your own: it’s quite small, and the sandbar changes depending on the time of day and the tides. You’ll also need to get there by boat, and need to know what to bring with you.

But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything you need to know about the incredible Virgin Island Bohol, including how to get there, and the best things to do during your visit.

Bohol: What to Know

Before getting to Virgin Island Bohol, you’ll likely start from Bohol Island, one of the top destinations in the Philippines. A stunning island in its own right, Bohol is fairly large (especially when compared to Pungtud Island), and it’s full of some incredible attractions.

Some of the best Bohol tourists spots and activities include:

The Chocolate Hills: Named because they resemble pieces of chocolate in the dry season, these hills are unlike anything you’ve seen before. They’re dome shaped, and surrounded by trees and rice paddies. They’re unique geological landforms made of limestone, and there are more than 1300 of them.

Tarsier Conservation Area: Tarsiers are tiny primates with huge eyes, and they are native to parts of SE Asia, including some islands in the Philippines. One of the most-visited Bohol attractions is the Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc. Home to more than 100 Tarsiers, you can visit this conservation area to see these unique, alien-like primates.

Loboc River: The Loboc River snakes through the jungle, and it often appears a vibrant green color. You can explore the river by boat, or by stand up paddleboard. If you’d like to visit the Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Conservation Area, and Loboc River in one amazing tour, check out this Countryside Wonders of Bohol Islands tour.

Waterfalls: Bohol is home to an impressive collection of waterfalls, and there are many to choose from. Some of the top waterfalls include Ingkumhan Falls, Pahangog Falls, Pahangog Falls, and Dam-Agan Falls. If you’re interested in visiting these waterfalls, be sure to check out Abraham’s Hidden Bohol Waterfalls tour.

While these are all incredible things to do during your trip to Bohol, one of the most unique (and stunning) places you can visit is definitely Virgin Island.

Virgin Island Bohol: What to Know

What exactly is Virgin Island Bohol, and how do you get there? This small island can be found off the west coast of Panglao Bay, on the small island of Panglao, which is part of the province of Bohol. Panglao can be reached by car, motorbike, or bus, as there are roads that connect it to the main island of Bohol.

Virgin Island Bohol can only be reached by boat, and many tours and private boat transports can take you to this island. Once you reach the island, there is a sandbar area, which is the must-visit location. When you take a tour or boat transport, your organizers will know exactly where to take you.

There, your boat will dock, and you’ll get off on the sandbar. You can spend a few hours enjoying the shores, soaking in the sun, and swimming in the shallow waters.

Here are some things you should bring with you during your trip to Virgin Island:

  • It’s smart to bring refreshments, water, drinks, and food, because there is nothing available for purchase in this area.
  • Bring a snorkel and goggles, so you can see what’s swimming below the surface.
  • Any beach games and activities are also a great idea.
  • Bring anything else you’d bring to spend a day in the sun, such as a towel, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.

Tips for Visiting Virgin Island Bohol

Virgin Island Bohol is a top attraction, for good reason: it’s a stunning place to visit. In order to have the best time on your trip, here are some tips:

Avoid the crowds

Because Virgin Island Bohol is so iconic, it can sometimes become crowded. We’ve found that the big tour groups tend to visit between the morning and lunchtime, and that it’ll be emptier if you visit during the second half of the day.

Enjoy the sunset

Another reason why visiting during the second half of the day is best? You can enjoy a stunning sunset, and still make it to the shore before dark. Your tour operator or boat captain will be sure you get you back safely, just after sunset finishes.

Keep in mind it’s remote

Virgin Island Bohol is a remote wonderland. While this is what makes it beautiful, keep in mind that you’ll need to bring anything with you that you want during the trip. While the tour isn’t too long, it’s still wise to bring snacks, beach supplies, and games. If you have a tour or private transport, they might arrange a meal for you.

Virgin Island Bohol should be at the top of your list of places to visit in the Philippines. With its white sand, remote location, and picturesque water, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you’re sure to love.

If you’re interested in visiting Virgin Island Bohol, let us show you the way. Abraham Tours offers a Virgin Island Sunset Tour, where we head to the island after lunch, to avoid the crowds and soak in the once-in-a-lifetime sunset. We also stop for snorkeling along the way, and provide you with some snacks.

We can’t wait to show you the fabulous Virgin Island Bohol.
