Galilee Tour: Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, from Tel-Aviv
This tour of Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee begins with a scenic drive along Israel’s coastline before heading inland toward the historic Valley of Armageddon, offering views of the ancient site of Megiddo. Continuing on, we pass Mount Precipice and arrive in Nazareth, where we explore the impressive Church of the Annunciation and the nearby Church of St. Joseph. Traveling toward the Sea of Galilee, we pass through Cana—known for the miracle where Jesus turned water into wine. From afar, we glimpse the Mount of Beatitudes, traditionally believed to be the location of the Sermon on the Mount, before visiting the lakeside town of Capernaum. At Tabgha, we stop to see the Church of the Multiplication, marking the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes. We then travel past Tiberias and visit Yardenit, a baptismal site on the Jordan River believed to be near where John baptized Jesus. On the way back, we pass Mount Tabor, associated with the Transfiguration.
