On this tour, you will explore the fortress of Masada, the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, and the Dead Sea. Departing in the early morning, you’ll arrive at Masada in time to watch the sunrise illuminate the desert and the Jordanian Mountains.
From your departure city, we’ll drive east through the Judean Desert to the foot of Masada.
Begin a moderate 45-minute hike up the Snake Path, where the rising sun over the mountains provides a breathtaking backdrop. Reach the top to enjoy stunning desert views and the shimmering Dead Sea below.
Explore the archaeological ruins of King Herod’s fortress, built in 30 BCE, and learn the story of the Jewish rebels who chose death over capture by the Romans. After descending, your bus will be ready to continue the journey.

Is it possible to take the cable car at Masada on this tour?
It is not. On this tour you will need to climb up Masada and then back down.
What sites will we be visiting on this tour?
Our tour will take you to two of Israel’s most iconic sites – Masada fortress and the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve. You’ll get to ride a cable car to the top of Masada fortress and enjoy breathtaking views of the desert and the Dead Sea. At Ein Gedi, you’ll hike alongside cool spring waters and even get the chance to float in the Dead Sea and immerse yourself in its famous therapeutic mud.
What should I bring on this tour?
We recommend that you bring breakfast, a hat, sunscreen, a bathing suit, walking shoes, water, and snacks. It’s also a good idea to bring a camera to capture the stunning views.
What happens if there is flooding at Ein Gedi?
In the unlikely event of flooding at Ein Gedi, we will visit Qumran or a similar location instead to ensure that your tour continues as planned.
The selected tours will be reserved for you for 30 minutes. If you do not complete the reservation, after 30 minutes, the tours will be released for purchase by others.
